For a brief outline, see God (the Son: King, Messiah or Anointed of God; and the Old Testament references to Messiah and His rule); also Man (the Protevangelion, and the successive limitation of the promise—to the race of Shem, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to the tribe of Judah and the family of David—with the typical intimation of the method of deliverance in sacrifice, and the presentation of the Deliverer by Moses as Prophet, by David as King, and in the Epistle to the Hebrews as Priest, Himself both offerer and victim).
