ENGRAVE; SHEOL; HADES. Heb. Sheol; Gr. Hades: the Unseen State or World. Translated either "grave" or "hell." Sheol: Gen. 37:35. I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Ps. 49:14. Like sheep they are laid in Sheol; death shall be their shepherd. Job 7:9. He that goeth down to Sheol shall come up no more. Prov. 27:20. Sheol and Abaddon are never full. Eccles. 9:10. There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest. Isa. 5:14. Ps. 16:10. Thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol. Ps. 139:8. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, Thou art there. Isa. 14:9. Hosea 13:14. Hades: Luke 16:23. In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments. Rev. 1:18. I have the keys of death and of Hades. 1 Cor. 15:55.

The tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God. 2. Gehenna; Tophet; Tartarus. Tophet: Isa. 30:33. For a Tophet is prepared of old. Jer. 7:31, 32. Gehenna: Matt. 5:22. In danger of the hell (Gehenna) of fire. Mark 9:43-47. Matt. 10:28. Fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matt. 23:33. James 3:6. Set on fire of hell. Tartarus: 2 Pet. 2:4. God spared not angels when they sinned, but cast them down to hell (Tartarus). Rev. 1:18.
