EN[The child's place in the family is one of dignity. Children are to be respected, regarded and treated as souls in trust for God, to whom account will be given. They are to be guided with patient and persistent endeavor in the knowledge of God and duty, as they are able to apprehend and to respond. They are to be governed with reason and love, and with thoughtful consideration of their natural infirmities, and ever under the sense of responsibility to God. They are to be guarded with watchful tenderness from all harmful influence to mind and heart and conscience.
