ENCIVIL GOVERNMENT. Rom. 13:1-6. The powers that be are ordained of God. … He beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil. 1 Pet. 2:13, 17. Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake. … Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. Titus 3:1. Christ's teaching: X. 425 (Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's). Prayer for all in authority: 1 Tim. 2:1, 2. For kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness. See Law of Sinai (Civil Law).
BSBRomans 13:1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which is from God. The authorities that exist have been appointed by God.
